Deputy Leader of the Liberal National Party of Queensland (LNP) Jarrod Bleijie MP will be the guest speaker at the Sunshine Coast Business Council’s upcoming luncheon, providing an opportunity for the local business community to hear how the LNP plans to address critical issues impacting the region’s economy, should they be successful in winning the state elections in October.
Mr Bleijie is expected to share the LNP’s strategy regarding investment in infrastructure, as well as planning for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, when he addresses more than 120 business leaders at The Lakehouse on Friday, 30 August.
Sunshine Coast Business Council (SCBC) Chair Sandy Zubrinich said the corporate luncheon is a golden opportunity for businesses to directly engage with a key political leader to better understand the LNP’s proposed strategies to bolster regional economies.
“With local government elections just behind us, state elections coming up in October and potentially a federal election within the next six months, this luncheon is perfectly timed to give the Sunshine Coast business community an insight into the LNP’s position,” Ms Zubrinich said.
“Attracting and retaining investments is critical for our region’s prosperity and this event will shed light on the LNP’s strategies to make Queensland a prime destination for investors.
“It’s an opportunity to understand how a LNP government will make regional economies stronger, build the infrastructure vital to underpin growth and prosperity, support local government and the private sector to unlock the supply of housing and industrial land, and deliver the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“The Games are a monumental opportunity for Queensland and insights into the LNP’s plans for these events will be invaluable for businesses looking to capitalise on this global stage.
“Infrastructure continues to be a top priority for the Business Council and we look forward to hearing directly from Mr Bleijie about how his government will give businesses and investors the regulations and confidence they need to continue investing in this region.. This state and this region needs business regulation that enables all size of businesses, innovation, entrepreneurship and competition to flourish.”
Ms Zubrinich said the SCBC is committed to hosting lunches like this as it’s crucial for local businesses to engage with policymakers to drive forward meaningful change for the Sunshine Coast region.
“Direct access to political leaders like Jarrod Bleijie ensures that our members’ voices are heard and our Sunshine Coast region is represented in key policy decisions,” Ms Zubrinich said.
“As we look to the future, understanding the LNP’s priorities will help businesses plan more effectively, ensuring they are prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
The SCBC has also extended an invitation to the Australian Labor Party to address members and business leaders prior to the election.
