The Sunshine Coast Business Council (SCBC) has commended the University of the Sunshine Coast and Sunshine Coast Council for hosting the Sunshine Coast Futures Conference on Friday, 7 November, which brought together key regional stakeholders, academics and professionals from a broad range of industries to address critical issues facing the Sunshine Coast.

Representatives from one of Australia’s most influential business groups, the Business Council of Australia (BCA), will journey to the Sunshine Coast on Thursday, 14 August to discuss its Action Plan for Enduring Prosperity and how the report’s recommendations can impact on the growth of regional areas like the Sunshine Coast.

Sunshine Coast Business Council board members are just some of almost 80 locals getting ready to rough it this month for the 2014 Sunshine Coast Vinnies Community Sleepout.

Today over 100 local representatives met at the Sunshine Coast Business Council’s Youth Prosperity Forum to tackle the over 17 per cent youth unemployment rate in the region and to secure commitment from government and the business community to take responsibility for the issue.

THE Sunshine Coast Business Council has applauded the changes to the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act, saying it will provide significant benefits for local businesses.
