The Sunshine Coast started the year with an annualised average unemployment rate of around 7.4%, one point above the state average of 6.4%. It now looks like finishing the year with a declining annualised averages of 6.7% (September) and 6.4% (October), more in line with state averages of 6.5% and 6.4% respectively.
